Michelle graduated from Virginia Tech in May of 2023 with her Bachelor's of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics, and one year later, she received her Master's of Industrial Systems Engineering. Combining these two degrees, Michelle began her career in health systems improvement at the Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) in Ashville, NC. The following year, Michelle transferred to the UNC Health Alliance and has continued health system improvement as a Quality and Organizational Excellence Leader in the Project Management Office.
