David Lawton, PT, DPT is a healthcare operations leader and Doctor of Physical Therapy with expertise in rehabilitation services, ambulatory clinical operations, and patient-centered care systems. He currently serves as Manager of Business Operations at Atrium Health Physical Therapy in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he leads strategic initiatives to optimize clinical operations and interdisciplinary care delivery across 40 ambulatory rehabilitation departments.

A Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and Certified Specialist in Ambulatory Practice Management, David brings a strong blend of clinical and administrative experience with a focus on evidence-based practice, operational efficiency, and outcomes improvement. His work includes leading large outpatient programs, standardizing therapy workflows, and driving data-informed quality and revenue cycle improvements. He has extensive experience in electronic health record optimization, including Epic reporting and workflow standardization to support clinical excellence and operational performance.

David earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and completed residency training at Duke University and is currently completing a Master of Healthcare Administration at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
