I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and work clinically as a hospitalist at Duke University Hospital. I spend the majority of my time serving as the Associate Medical Director for the Duke Health Digital Strategy Office, where I focus on patient-facing digital applications and patient experience. My areas of focus include virtual care, remote patient monitoring (RPM), the MyChart app, patient engagement and care pathways, and patient-reported outcomes. I also serve as the Unit Medical Director for one of the Duke University Hospital “Innovation Units” where I help lead deployment and evaluation of technology in the inpatient setting to improve care. My research and quality improvement work is focused on the implementation and formal evaluation of digital programs to assess their efficacy and outcomes.
