Melanie has been an RN for over 25 years, with the first half of her career spent working as an ICU nurse. She has served in various leadership roles and has participated in many quality improvement initiatives. In her role as Executive Director, Hospital Operations at ECU Health, Melanie is responsible for coordination, development and supportive resources to drive performance across ECU Health. Melanie’s work enhances throughput and efficiency within ECU Health. Melanie leads the alignment and integration of strategies, initiatives, programs and support infrastructures that enable the system to achieve results aligning with established system imperatives.
Melanie is a graduate of UNC, Chapel Hill and East Carolina University with a master’s degree in nursing leadership. Melanie is Critical Care Nurse Certified and a recipient of The Daisy Award. Melanie enjoys traveling, a variety of outdoor activities, and can be found with her husband and sons on the beaches of North Carolina as often as possible.
