Description
Our hospital system was sitting with hours of "dead bed" time, or unused patient bedded time, while nurses were continuing to chart before freeing up the bed to be cleaned and reassigned to a new patient. With the help of our EPIC TS, we created a measure to capture this time and had a greater than 50% reduction in our "dead bed" time, improving efficiency across the entire continuum of patient flow for the system with thousands of hours saved.
