This presentation will explore Duke Health’s innovative methods for handling HIPAA Patient Amendment requests. At Duke Health, the HIM Department coordinates workflows across the health system to manage these requests. The presentation will highlight the challenges encountered and the strategies used to ensure timely and compliant processing of patient requests for EHR amendments. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of how Duke Health effectively automates and manages the processing of patient amendment requests through an interdisciplinary approach and technology supported by Epic’s Release of Information and Identity Chart Correction modules.
