Rebecca Knudsen graduated from the UNC School of Pharmacy in 2007 and completed a PGY1 residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Upon residency completion, she moved to Chicago, IL and worked as a decentralized ICU pharmacist and PGY1 residency coordinator at Evanston Hospital, now part of NorthShore University Health System. It was at Evanston Hospital where Rebecca learned Epic as an end-user and was captivated by the software's opportunities. She returned to Winston Salem in 2011 as Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center was forming their WakeOne Epic team and accepted the Principal Trainer position. After go-live in September 2012, she transferred to the WakeOne build team as a Sr. Analyst. In October 2022, she transitioned to the Atrium Health Willow Inpatient team to work on the Encompass Epic instance, focusing on the WakeOne to Encompass conversion. Her professional interests are patient clinical prioritization, antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacist efficiency tools, SlicerDicer, and sharing Epic build best practices. Rebecca holds active certifications in Willow Inpatient, Willow Inventory, Willow Ambulatory, and Cogito Fundamentals.
