Maryellen Smith is a Clinical Informaticist at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where she supports Radiology workflows. With nearly two decades at Novant Health, she brings deep operational and technical experience across Epic applications including Radiant and ASAP, along with extensive experience as a PACS Administrator supporting imaging systems and PowerScribe reporting workflows. Her work focuses on imaging optimization, governance, clinician experience, and the adoption of ambient documentation technologies such as DAX Copilot.

Maryellen partners closely with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to streamline workflows, implement scalable solutions, and balance high-volume enhancement demand through structured governance and agile sprint methodologies. She has led and supported initiatives ranging from imaging order and protocol optimization to PACS and PowerScribe workflow improvements, DAX Copilot rollout, provider training, and data-driven decision support.
