Jacob W. Parrish is an experienced health care executive with a strong background in capacity and throughput management, operational excellence, case management, utilization review, and emergency management. He currently serves as the Vice President of Capacity & Throughput at ECU Health in rural eastern North Carolina where he has been since October 2021. In this role, Jacob is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maximize performance regarding patient flow across ECU Health, focusing on throughput, bed placement, lab, radiology, and capacity management protocols for nine hospitals across the region.

Prior to his current role, Jacob held various leadership positions at ECU Health (formerly Vidant Health), including Vice President of Systems and Procedures, and Director of Growth and Reform.

Jacob holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a Master of Public Health from East Carolina University. He is actively involved in community service and professional organizations, including serving as President of Pitt County Group Homes Foundation and as a board member of the East Carolina University Alumni Association.
