This presentation describes a comprehensive, multi-phase Epic onboarding framework developed by UNC Faculty Physicians to address the critical gap in standardized electronic medical record support for new ambulatory providers. The structured approach features individualized Epic specialist consultations strategically timed over 90 days, including pre-clinical orientation, real-time first-day support, and progressive follow-up sessions. This systematic methodology aims to reduce provider burnout, improve workflow efficiency, and enhance patient care quality by ensuring providers are fully prepared to utilize Epic effectively within their specialty-specific workflows.
