Description
In this seminar, we build on our previous presentation on neurodivergent (ND) users and Epic, this time with a focus on procrastination—specifically, the paradox of procrastiwork. ND minds often find themselves doing everything except The One Thing. This is not out of laziness, but as a way to protect their psyche under constant cognitive load. In the structured chaos of healthcare, where alerts, inboxes, and interruptions are relentless, ND users experience a unique kind of overwhelm. Traditional workflow design may actually augment procrastination in multiples.
We’ll explore how procrastination functions as a protective mechanism in ND brains, how executive functioning differences shape this experience, and how ND users have found ways to identify, interrupt, and sometimes even embrace the cycle. This session is for clinicians, trainers, builders, and Epic designers alike—welcome all brains and minds.
