Description
In fast-paced emergency care, patients are often triaged with someone present, limiting their ability to answer sensitive questions truthfully, especially those related to violence or abuse. This presentation examines a case where a patient, rushed to a room for chest pain, initially gave a non-concerning response during triage. Later, through the MyChart ED Bedside app and its integrated questionnaire, the patient disclosed experiencing violence at home, an answer that went unseen. This session will highlight how digital tools can surface critical information that traditional workflows may miss and explore strategies to ensure these silent signals are recognized and acted upon.
