To address elevated patient no-show rates across its physician practices, McLeod Physician Associates (MPA), McLeod Health's physician network, implemented a predictive analytics model within Epic. Implemented in June 2025, the model identifies patients at high risk of missing appointments, with risk indicators integrated into the Daily Appointment Reports (DAR) and clinic manager dashboards. This data-driven approach replaced inefficient manual outreach, enabling targeted appointment reminders and improved provider productivity. Within the system's fiscal year, the overall no-show rate has dropped from 8.2% to 5.1%, the lowest since MPA adopted Epic. The model is now being expanded to additional service lines, supporting improved access, schedule utilization, and care delivery across the organization.
