Suzanne Wilson MD has served as the FirstHealth CMIO for 12 years. Her medical degree is from Indiana University Medical School and residency in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics from Indiana University Medical Center. Before medical school, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Western Kentucky University. Currently, she is a physician executive administrator, CMIO, overseeing the build and implementation of information technology systems for providers while keeping a clinical practice both inpatient and outpatient. As CMIO the development and continued engagement with our Epic physician builder program has been pivotal to incorporating many clinical aspects into our EMR. Honors have included Physician of the Year at FirstHealth and Teacher of the Year during her years in medicine. Dr. Wilson’s career began with medical informatics when she was a Clinical Director for Indiana University Medical Group implementing systems. Throughout her career, she has held many leadership positions in healthcare. Recent position additions have included Telehealth Medical Director and Wellness Director. When she isn’t performing career duties, Dr. Wilson enjoys tennis, biking, photography, and gardening.
