Originally from NJ, I graduated with a PharmD from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2000. For the majority of my career, I worked on the front lines as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist or Supervisor in acute care practice settings with three major healthcare systems. I always found myself drawn to/heavily involved in IT initiatives- whether it was implementing barcode medication administration at the 900-bed teaching hospital, Siemens/Meditech to Cerner/EPIC conversions, electronic inventory management system (BD Logistics) implementation, automation system (Pyxis and Omnicell) upgrades/conversions, or simply serving as the Pharmacy EHR change management liaison etc. About four years ago, I took a leap of faith and followed that passion, stepping away from the front lines and into a supportive role- first in Pharmacy Automation and then in my present position, Pharmacy Practice Lead- Pharmacy IT, where I've become Willow Inpatient Certified and found what I consider the ideal way to combine my clinical, operational and technical experience facilitating implementation of Pharmacy IT initiatives.
