We created a Snapboard Schedule in coordination with a physician for a project to have our OB/GYN physicians to schedule their own induction appointments. This allows them to do this without the assistance of nurses or office staff and decreases the need for calls to the unit and involving/interrupting the charge nurse. The charge nurses in labor and delivery maintain the schedule and the list of patients who may be delayed due to staffing or room availability. This also lets us report on why there are bottlenecks if inductions are postponed.
