How do insurance companies interpret the data around patient outcomes? CPT II Codes! At Cone Health, we sought out a way to auto-drop CPT II codes to eliminate unnecessary time manually adding those codes to claims or adding documentation to payor websites. Through a Turbocharger from Epic and a bit of customization, we were able to submit Blood Pressure readings, Hemoglobin A1c values, and Medication Reviewed codes automatically at the time of signing the encounter. This change increased efficiency in reporting and closing gaps on those quality measures. In this presentation we’ll discuss why we chose this approach, the details of the build, and how we implemented the project systemwide.
