Matthew Shingara is the Information Technology Team Lead for Long Term Care, Skilled Nursing Facilities/Units, and Swing Units with more than a decade of industry experience. He, and his team, work in collaboration with operational leaders to design, build, and implement the Epic – LTC experience for Atrium Health’s five skilled nursing facilities, two skilled nursing units, and two swing bed units; over 600 beds in all. Before long term care, he implemented Cerner in more than 400 ambulatory practices and was responsible for the post-implementation support of five service-lines, which included 23 practices and their nearly 200 providers and teammates. As a LEAN Six-Sigma Green Belt who is committed to process efficiency and people focused solutions, Matthew is an active voice in both the Epic Long Term Care Steering Board and Long Term Care Braintrust where he advocates for development to meet the complex workflow and regulatory needs of skilled nursing. When away from the computer, he is most likely with his plants; an avid grower and hybridizer of orchids, cultivating optimal environments and systems is never far from his mind.
