I am a long-time North Carolinian, born and raised in the Charlotte area. I attended medical school at Wake Forest School of Medicine (now part of Atrium Health). I have practiced general pediatrics in this community since 1994 and still see patients one day a week. I got involved in informatics shortly after Atrium Health transitioned from paper to Cerner in 2006, with increasing responsibility and time invested since then. I was board-certified in clinical informatics in 2017 and began working full-time as Ambulatory CMIO in March 2020 and worked with our IT leaders on our transition to Epic in all our markets. We have now combined with Advocate Aurora to become Advocate Health, headquartered in Charlotte, NC.
