In 2023 ECU Health implemented a dashboard using the standard HEDIS quality measures for our Managed Medicaid Contract population. Switching to the HEDIS framework allows our care management team, quality leaders, and practice managers to have one source of information related to quality performance. The HEDIS framework also incorporates both primary and secondary sources when calculating measures which gives our end users the best representation of their overall quality scores. Since our ECU Health Care Management arm, Access East, contracts with several non-ECU Health AMH3 practices in the community to provide care management, having the ability to combine primary claims data with our own clinical data in Epic and external clinical data brought in through Care Everywhere was a big asset to these external AMH3 locations. Our NC UGM presentation will focus on how our Healthy Planet team overcame various challenges with the implementation and lessons learned that we can share with other Epic customers.
